ALMACO has built a purpose-driven culture that’s rooted in a shared set of values. It empowers our staff to put clients first, and relies on a neighborly approach to problem solving and looking after one another. We keep things simple, and our record speaks for itself.
This isn’t assembly line work at ALMACO – each machine is built by hand by our tight-knit team of fabricators and assemblers. Here, minds as well as hands are engaged with each build. Ready to start?
ALMACO Service Technicians are highly skilled problem solvers that are there to find resolution when help is needed. Do you love to find the fix and save the day?
We design and engineer high-performing machines that help our clients plant, harvest, and process seeds better. Open ears and open minds are integral to our process. Some days, you’re modifying, others you’re developing something from scratch, but you’re always pressing ahead.
The variety of work keeps things fresh for our teams. Employees are empowered to do what is right for the business, and many times people work cross-functionally or help in other departments as needed.

Title: Steel Production Lead
You can walk through the manufacturing areas week to week and watch machines get built from the wheels up. Our equipment is built to order, from a sheet of steel to a finished machine, calibrated to collect sensitive data like a mobile lab. ALMACO standards are high, and our skilled craftspeople are up to the challenge of making sure that quality is built into everything they touch.
The process starts with Stephen, the Production Lead in the steel area. He’s had experience with the saw, press brake, material prep, and welding in his thirteen years at ALMACO. Stephen says he never says no when he gets to learn something new – “It always opens up opportunities later.”
Stephen will tell you that one of the most important things that ALMACO provides is flexibility. Employees in manufacturing can set their work schedules to what works best for them and their families – working 4 day work weeks, day or afternoon shifts, early or late start times – everyone can find balance in their work and home responsibilities.
ALMACO is the right place for people who want to be challenged with new and interesting work every day. Instead of an assembly line, we build in small teams. Welding employees have their own areas to build assemblies, and Production Assembly Technicians put those pieces together to build a combine, planter, or other ag machinery.
You’ll also have the satisfaction of building something that you know will make it possible for clients to develop food, fuel and fiber that will provide for people worldwide.
Title: Field Service Technician
Service Technicians at ALMACO are more than mechanics. ALMACO machines are built to last and technicians can upgrade and maintain equipment that was made throughout the decades. This role is for people who crave variety and like the challenge that comes with maintaining custom machinery.
There are three main areas in our service department – employees who can help troubleshoot over the phone, the teams that work on equipment that is brought in to Central service at ALMACO headquarters, and Field Service Technicians who travel around the world to visit clients in their fields.
Angelo is one of those superhero Field Service Technicians. Angelo has been with ALMACO for three years and is a key contact for clients in Mexico and Puerto Rico, as well as recently doing some installations in France. He can travel the world in pursuit of the perfect Cuban.
Employees who work in the service department are passionate about the client experience and find satisfaction in not only solving mechanical puzzles but in building relationships with the people who use ALMACO equipment to develop the latest seeds and planting methods.
Service team members consistently report that they enjoy the teams they work with and value the personal connections that are made at ALMACO.
Title: Project Engineer
The Engineering teams at ALMACO innovate solutions for our clients’ specific ag research needs. They spend time on new product development and producing customizations to make our clients’ requests a reality.
Italia has worked at ALMACO for just over one year. She spends most of her day developing CAD models and documentation that our manufacturing departments use to build our products. She recently was able to collaborate with one of our clients to introduce more automation into their pipeline.
“Working as an engineer at ALMACO is an incredible mixture of collaboration and self-pursuance on all projects. It’s a small enough company that every person’s input has a great impact on the direction of the next concept.”
When you speak to our Engineering team members, you’ll hear that they enjoy being able to work on all aspects of innovation – from concept to prototyping, all the way to a manufacturable product. Engineers get to work on all parts of our machines and get to see their ideas become a reality. They like to get away from their desks and get hands-on time with what we’re building.
Italia also shared that the team is flexible and understanding when it comes to schedules. Team members work in the hours that make sense to them, and sometimes work remotely on short notice.
Our business couldn’t function without the talented individuals in Sales, Marketing, Accounting, HR, IT, and Administration. Smaller teams mean that we know each other well. We can work together to build processes and get things done, using our individual expertise and creative collaboration.
The variety of work keeps things fresh for our teams. Employees are empowered to do what is right for the business, and many times people work cross-functionally or help in other departments as needed.
Lenae in Accounting says, “We are versatile and flexible employees that fill in wherever and whenever a task needs to be completed, regardless of our title.”
Lenae gets to work around 7 a.m. so she can balance her home life with her 4 children. Employees create work schedules that make sense for them, depending on their day-to-day.
Lenae enjoys the casual atmosphere at ALMACO. She loves that her work environment has a lot of positive vibes.
